How to get Vizio Apps Working outside the US (Video)

Alright, so I managed to get the Vizio blue-ray player apps to work in Canada. I wasn't sure how it was going to work, but thank to my networking classes and the Internet I was able to accomplish it.

You'll need:

- A Mac or PC connected to the Internet through an Ethernet connection
- an Ad Hoc connection in that computer ( HERE )
- Vizio Blue-ray player (Vizio.com)
- Overplay VPN software ( HERE )

So first of all, install the Overplay software. Then get your ad hoc connection set up and connect your computer to it. Following that run and connect your computer to an Overplay US server. For the sake of this tutorial we will connect to the free server; it's descent. Finally, go to your Vizio machine and set up the network connection by going to settings>network>wireless>list and selecting your ad hoc connection.

It'll now say it's connected, but it won't work just yet. You need to go back to your windows machine and go to your network connections (control panel) and find the new network connection created by Overplay (look for the description that says something like "VPN" or "Tun") then right-click and go to properties. Select the advance tab and click on "allow other computers to connect to the internet through this computer" or something like that. Then choose from the dropdown menu the name of the new overplay VPN connection. This is the connection that will be shared with your ad hoc. Click OK and go back to your Vizio.

Do a final network test to make sure everything is working and login and enjoy pandora, Netflix and Vudu & apps!!

Cheers!

See it in action!
